What the name means
Yahweh is the personal name God gave Himself when Moses asked who was sending him to Egypt. It speaks of a God who simply is: eternal, unchanging, needing nothing, and faithful to every promise.
"God said to Moses, 'I AM WHO I AM.'" — Exodus 3:14
It appears thousands of times in the Old Testament. In most English Bibles you'll see it written as "LORD" in small capital letters.
